Confidentiality and privacy issues

Keeping your documents safe and secure

I recognise the importance of confidentiality and privacy when dealing with other people’s personal or academic documents. Below are some of the measures I would take to ensure that your work remains safe and secure:

  • I would happily sign a confidentiality/non-disclosure agreement
  • There would be no third party disclosure of any details (including contact details or matter contained within the documents)
  • I would be the only person who would proofread/edit the document
  • The work would be edited on a PC that is password protected (the password would also be changed on a regular basis)
  • Work would be saved for the initial 48 hours after completion in case of queries but will then be permanently deleted
  • The work would never be saved on any portable devices
  • I would set up a separate email address that only you would be privy to in order to ensure that no one else views our communication or that work may not be accidentally sent to a third party. Alternatively documents can be sent by secure FTP or other safe transfer methods.

I am also happy to undertake any further measures in line with your or your university’s policy.

I appreciate that all customers require individual attention to meet their specific needs and would be happy to discuss this in more detail. Please feel free to email me at kelly@proofreadingandediting.co.uk.
