Essays – Theses – Dissertations – Reports – Case Studies

Whether you’re writing an academic essay or a letter to a prospective employer it is important to make the right first impression.

Universities typically award 10% of a grade for the use of sound, grammatical English: these marks could make the difference between a good grade and a great grade.

Research has shown that organisations – businesses and universities included – are less likely to trust and engage people who have spelling mistakes in their documents. And with the impact of globalisation it has never been more important to communicate effectively in English.

Sometimes you have laboured over a piece so much that your eyes don’t register the mistakes. English may not be your native language and so you struggle to express your ideas with fluency and flair. You may just lack confidence in your own writing and would appreciate a second pair of eyes, a fresh pair of eyes, to check that your work is clear, consistent, and correct.

This is where I can help!

I check your work for obvious details such as spelling, punctuation, and grammar but can also ensure that the work is consistent throughout, written in the correct tense and person, is well organised and structured, and is appropriate for the intended audience. I offer a range of services to suit your needs and tailor my work and prices to you. I am always happy to discuss your specific requirements before starting work: I recognise that you have invested a lot of time, money and effort in your writing and I acknowledge and respect that in the work that I do.

All work can be completed by email communication, enabling me to serve customers beyond my geographical area (I am based in Wirksworth, Derbyshire). All work is corrected using Microsoft Word ‘Track Changes’ ensuring that you can view my amendments and accept or reject my suggestions, leaving you in full control of your work. I ensure that all work is returned with a summary sheet to help you better understand the work I have undertaken and I am always happy to answer any further questions you may have. This also helps you to learn from your mistakes and improve your writing in the long term not just for one piece of work. I aim to offer a fast and reliable service and always meet the deadline imposed.

I am a fully qualified and experienced English teacher and have been proofreading for over 10 years. I am passionate about what I do and am committed to helping people express their ideas with fluency and flair without being hindered by their command of English.
